Old Business:
  1. Working independently, complete the Golden Rule assignment from Thursday. A wrinkle; if you need help remembering how to accomplish something you may visit the GCF Word 10 Activities to review skills. This is due today. You may work on this for the first 20 minutes of the period.
  2. Turn this in by placing it in the Drop Box > Armstrong > Golden Rule Folder.
  3. Unhappy with your score below 85 on this week's word test? Good news for you. Retakes will be permitted today at lunch in Room 83. 

New Business:

  1. Go to this Google Site.
  2. Choose Made with Code in the top left corner of the page. Watch this short video.
  3. Complete the Yeti: Code + Animation Project. When you finish save the image to your student folder.
  4. Try other coding activities under Projects menu at the top of the page.

Word Practicum

  1. Atlas: Copy your weekly grades from Atlas into your Week 3 of Quarter 2 in your agenda. Leave the book open for the teacher to stamp.
  2. Go to Teacher Folder > Armstrong > 1 pick Up.
  3. Open the Golden Rule Directions and Golden Rule text.  If the text doc does not open, go to Google Doc version. Copy the text onto a Word document. Then begin
  4. Working independently, with no talking, follow the directions on the page to format the text and save it as instructed. A wrinkle; if you need help remembering how to accomplish something you may visit the GCF Word 10 Activities to review skills. 
  5. This is due today
  6. Unhappy with your score below 85 on this week's word test? Good news for you. Retakes will be permitted on Friday, October 31 and lunch in Room 83. Practice the Quiz. Practice several times if you need.

  1. Keyboard practice for 10 minutes at typingweb.com.
  2. Test on Word lessons 1-24. This is assigned to you on  My Big Campus. During the test you may only have MBC open. You not have any applications or windows open.
  3. Complete lessons 18 - 24 in Doing More with Word. Create a new folder  in your Server Folder called Word Lessons 2 and continue saving challenges. These are due today.
  4. Finish other work, including Trillion Dollar Footprint if that is not completed yet.
  5. Work on the Extras - More Challenges section of GCF Word 2010. Can you change the background on a picture? See the example at the end of last Friday's assignment.

  1. Complete the MBC assignment, Trillion Dollar Footprint. Open the assignment. Read the text and follow the directions. Be certain to watch the embedded video and do everything that is asked. The missing page for Linda Berlinner can be found at the bottom of last Thursday's Assignment on this page. This was due last Friday.
  2. Complete lessons 18 - 24 in Doing More with Word. Create a new folder  in your Server Folder called Word Lessons 2 and continue saving challenges. These are due today.
  3. On your block day you will take a test on test on Word lessons 1-24. Practice for the test here. Review any items missed by going back to those lessons and repeating them.
  4. Work on the Extras - More Challenges section of GCF Word 2010. Can you change the background on a picture? See the example at the end of last Friday's assignment.

Cell WOrld & WOrd Lessons

  1. Practice typing for ten minutes. Use the lessons onTypingWeb.
  2. Show what you know! Use your new Word skills to create a flyer for Cell World, the world's first amusement park inside a cell. Click here for flyer instructions. This is due at the end of the period today. The flyer instructions are the minimum requirement; add more to your flyer to ensure a great score. Remember that your amusement park must show that you understand the functions of the cell organelles that you choose to be part of your park.  Odd Periods: Turn it in by placing in Mr. Armstrong's Drop Box in the  Cell World Folder. Even Periods: Turn it in by posting it in your My Big Campus schoolwork.
  3. Continue to learn features of Word 2010 by completing lessons 18 - 24 in Doing More with Word. Create a new folder called Word Lessons 2 and continue saving challenges.

*If you did not finish lessons 1 - 17 last week, work to complete them and turn them in BEFORE typing lessons or anything else.

  1. Work on lessons in GCF Word 2010 Common Tasks in Word. Do each activity and its accompanying Challenge. Save the Challenge using Computech protocols as Word #. Place this in the Word Lessons folder on your server. Complete each of the lessons, 8 - 17, in the Common Tasks in Word. Due end of period Friday. 
  2. Read the directions for Cell World. Use what you have learned in the Word Lessons to complete the tasks assigned. This is due end of the period Monday.
  3. Need a challenge because you are finished? Check out Extras - More Resources at the bottom of the GCF Word 2010 page. Pick one of those to complete. Really gain some "mad" Word skills.

  1. Atlas Grades. Record your report card grades in the RC column at the end of Quarter 1.
  2. Now write your classes in Quarter 2 and record any grades you have in classes so far this week under Week 1 of Quarter 2.
  3. Keyboard Practice at typingweb.com.
  4. Work on lessons in GCF Word 2010 Common Tasks in Word. Do each activity and its accompanying Challenge. Save the Challenge using Computech protocols as Word #.
