Finish Andalusian Poem, Website

1. Complete your Andalusian poem. It is due TODAY. Place it in my drop box.
2. Change the share settings on Google Doc Peer Feedback so that I may read it.
3. Open your agenda so that I may give credit for Week 6 data entry.
4. Today you may choose from the following activities:

     a. Work on your digital portfolio/website

     b. Watch the BrainPOP videos called American Indians and/or Thanksgiving. For extra credit, complete the activity called Primary Source; you may do one or both videos. To turn in the extra credit, use the Snipping Tool to take a picture of your work and save it to the Extra Credit folder in my Drop Box. Name it # Last First XC1 or XC2.

     c. In BrainPOP>GameUp>Social Studies Games, play the game called "Mission US: A Cheyenne Odyssey" or the game called "Sortify: American Indian History".

     d. TypingWeb lessons or games.

ATLAS and Poem Formatting

Objective: Students will format an Andalusian poem to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences.

  1. Review your grades on ATLAS. Record and graph them; this is week 6.
  2. Type and format your Andalusian poem according to these directions.
  3. Practice typing using TypingWeb if poem is finished and turned in.
  4. Many students failed to allow access for the teacher to read the Peer Feedback form from Block day this week. Open your Peer Feedback Google Doc and change the sharing to Anyone at Computech with the link. This way I can see the work to give you credit.

  1. Keyboard for 10 minutes at typingweb.com. Begin by taking the test. Then practice on skills that need to improve.
  2. Copy the URL of your Peer Feedback Document assignment from Monday. Share that URL with me at this Google Form.
  3. Visit my page, Website Development. 
  4. Watch the Building Your Portfolio PowerPoint.
  5. Read the requirements to make your Digital Portfolio. 
  6. Work to add a complete assignment entry for each class you take.  That is: Assignment Title, Image of the Assignment (turn on the Lightbox so it can be enlarged for reading), Reflection of at least 5 sentences. Make it look professional on the page.

Peer Feedback

Today you will be looking at the Websites of classmates. A few of your classmates will be looking at your website. 
  1. Open the your live website. Make it fit one half of your screen.
  2. Open the Peer Feedback Document.
  3. Under File in the horizontal navigation list, make a copy of this. Name it #Last First Web Feedback
  4. Size the Peer Feedback Document to fill the other half of your screen.
  5. Type your name in the header beside Website Designer’s Name:. Then copy your website URL onto the document below your name.
  6. Follow the teacher's directions regarding moving to the next station.
  7. Read the directions on the page. 
  8. Answer the first question that has not been responded to yet. Be sure to write in your designated color. If time allows, answer other questions. If all questions have been answered once, begin being the second response writer for each question from the top of the page.

  1. Keyboard practice for 8 minutes at typingweb.com
  2. Continue to create your website. Refer to the initial website requirements here.
  3. When you think your website is complete, check it with this Google form: Website Creation Checklist. This set up is due today.
  4. Participate in teacher led lesson on adding assignments to your web pages.
  5. You may read the Fresno Bee if you finish with time to spare.

  5. Follow teacher instructions for connecting to Weebly editor and starting your page.

  1. Keyboard practice. Do the typingweb.com test. Are you improving? Now continue with the lessons that you need to practice.
  2. Visit the website Introduction to Web Design.  You will be reading the first 12 topics on this website. The final required topic is fonts. Make this web site fill half the screen. In a second tab open MBC. Start the Intro to Web Design assignment. Make this tab fill the other half of your monitor screen.
  3. Work your way through the information, reading carefully. Respond to the corresponding prompts and questions on MBC as you go.
  4. If you have time, try to find examples with good web design and websites that are poorly designed. Save links to them.
