Beginner's Guide to Making Websites with Weebly

Website Setup  Requirements

  • Home page containing an About Me paragraph (remember to avoid private information) and at least one school or About Me related picture
  • A page for each: Core, Math, Science, Computers, Electives and PE
  • On each page, link a button to that teacher's website
  • A picture that represents each class on each class page
  • Use pictures that are free to reuse

Digital Portfolio

  • Choose at least one assignment per quarter from the following classes: English, History, Math, Science, and Computers. Add an image of each assignment to its page and turn on the lightbox (gives the ability to enlarge the image).
  • Remember to delete personally identifying information before you post the image.
  • Add assignments from Electives and P.E. as you are able
  • If you do not have an image yet for a class, be creative. Try to take a picture of a lesson or activity. Use an image relating to the assignment. For example, if you play trumpet and don't have a picture from Band, insert an image of a trumpet.
  • Images should be samples of work you did, not the cover of a text book.
  • Begin thinking about your lessons as opportunities to share your learning on your website. Adding content to your Weebly site will be an ongoing part of your Computer class.
  • For each assignment added, write a reflection on your learning. The reflection must be a paragraph that addresses the following:
  • The reason(s) you included the assignment in your digital portfolio
  • What you learned doing the assignment

Website Rubric

Make sure you read and understand this grading rubric. These are the things I will be looking at to assign you your grade for your website. You will receive a grade for your website throughout the year, so it is in your best interest to keep it up to date and ready for review. It is very embarassing for someone to visit your website and find it incomplete or out of date.
